{Vegas Recap}

This time last week we were is Las Vegas. We met our friends, Sarah and Dustin there.  I just got around to looking at my photos tonight. I hardly took any! We were too busy having fun. Here's a few I did take.

Before we saw a show at Planet Hollywood we ate at this restaurant that had a bull. We made Dave and Dustin ride it.  Dave should keep his day job. He got bucked off right away. Dustin, however, did a much better job.

We saw The "V" Variety Show. It was a great show! Wally Eastwood was hysterical!

March is coming up and it's always the busiest month of the year for us. Robert is about to turn 16 years old and is driving. He drives all. the. time. Also, Dave has a birthday at the end of the month. Robert is also working the Spring Training games again this season at the Peoria Sport Complex as a bat boy. He got his schedule and he's only going to have one day game this year. That's great that he'll only miss one half day of school. My aunt and uncle are also coming to visit for the month from Tennessee. Goods times! I love this time of year!

{Back from Vegas}

Dave and I had a weekend away together in Vegas. Had a great time!! It was much needed after how crazy January was. Haven't looked at any of my photos yet. Will share some soon. I do have a photo from my phone I can share. I won a little bit of money. I never win, ever! It wasn't much, but I was pretty happy with the winnings since it was my first bet at that machine and only bet $2.00. I cashed that baby out right away! I wasn't going to be like everyone else and put it back.

{Bodega Bay}

We love the Northern California coast line!  This trip we had a couple of less days to do things since we where visiting over Christmas.  The day before we headed home we decided to just spend the day along the coast.  We went the opposite way we normally would go since we went from Jamie's house.  We went down hill for most of the ride along a very narrow road off of a cliff that went right up to the ocean. 

We stopped to take a picture once we got down to lower ground. 

 

Then all of the sudden about 6 cows decided they wanted to cross the road.  It's their land and they didn't care we were driving by.  They took their time too. 

 
 
We reached Goat Rock Beach.  Our favorite beach.  Now you can't swim here. Well, I guess you can if you want to risk losing your life.  The rip tides are huge and one time my mom, dad and sister were hit by one.  They were so lucky they weren't swept out to sea.  (they had come to visit me and I had to work that day so I didn't go with them.  I guess I should have warned them about the rip tides). 

Anyway Goat Rock beach is big and it's in two sections.  We always go to the right part first.

He made his way over to the washed up tractor.  It was rusted and just stranded there.  I assume it fell off of a large boat and washed up on rocks.   Robert brought a small piece of the tractor home.  Wonder where I'll put that?

Then we headed into town (Bodega) and  had the best lunch.  We all shared fish and chips and had clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl.

We had a lot of fun spending Christmas in Northern California.  Came home a day early so we could catch up here at home (glad we did since we missed a huge storm that hit today).  We slept in late.  I have been doing laundry all.day.long.  It's raining here today and cold!  Staying in and relaxing.  We go back to work tomorrow.  I'll post more pics later and tell more about our trip.

{The Town of Jerome, AZ}

I've been meaning to post some more pictures from our overnight trip to Jerome.  There's not a whole lot to do in Jerome.  It's fun to spend one night there. 

Here's the Jerome Winery.

The Connor Hotel which is on the main street of Jerome.  My friend, Debbie and her family stayed there a few weeks before we went.  It's supposed to be haunted as well.

The Liberty Theatre, which was pretty huge.  It amazed me how big this place was!

We had the best dinner here at The Haunted Hamburger.

There are only about two streets of main downtown Jerome.  This is half of one of them.

And that big building at the top of this photo was our hotel.  I will post pictures of the inside of the hotel tomorrow.  Right now I need to get to a jewelry party a friend is having and then pick Robert up from football practice. 

{Orbs}

Still going through our pictures. They also gave us another camera to take all the pictures we wanted while on the tour.  There were 9 cameras being used by the people on the tour and each person took well over 100 pictures.  One lady took over 250 (not me) so you can do the math on all the pictures that were taken.  We handed in our cameras at the end of the tour and they made us all a CD with all the pictures that were taking by everyone.

This one is weird because it's not perfectly round.  That makes me think it's something other than dust.  I have lots of photos were you can tell it's dust because they are everywhere in the photo, but these are large and the only one in the photo.

This was taken in room 41.  Our tour guide told us that this phone has rang down into the lobby and no one was staying in the room and they heard a lady on the other end of the line.  These phones are the old fashioned kind where you can't dial...you just pick it up and it will ring the switchboard at the hotel lobby desk.  The man who worked there ran up to the room and when he got there, the room was looked and when he went in all was normal.  He went downstairs to talk to his co-worker about it and it rang again.  It was only them and a maid on the 2nd floor and it wasn't her.  Room 41 is on the 4th floor. 

This was taken on one of the stairwells.  I don't remember which one.  Notice the 2 orbs to the right of the clock.  So that's all have for now.  Whether or not these are real or not it was fun to find them and that's all that matters.     

We bought this book while in Jerome.  Can't wait to stay at another "haunted hotel" in the future.

Oh....Ghost Hunters will be filming at the Jerome Grand Hotel in September.  Can't wait to see that episode!

Ok that's it for today.  I'll be back tomorrow with some photos of downtown Jerome and hopefully I'll have more ghost photos to share and a couple of videos too.  I'll save the best for last later next week....a couple of weird things we experienced!

{Jerome}

Jerome, AZ.  It was founded in 1876.  It was a big mining town.  At its peak, 15,000 people had lived there.  Now around 150 people live there.  Jerome is built on and down the side of a hill. 

 

 See that big building at the top?  That's the Jerome Grand Hotel.

The Jerome Grand Hotel was once a very big and very popular state of the art hospital in 1926.  This hospital was built to replace a smaller one that was down the street that was damaged during mine blasting.  Around 1954 the hospital finally closed.  It remained abandoned until it was made into a hotel and opened up in 1994 ( I think). 

We stayed on the third floor in room 32 which has a balcony.  We walked down into town and shopped in all the shops and explored all the old buildings.  Later that night, we got to take a ghost hunt private tour of the Grand Hotel.  I'll be back tomorrow with more on that after I look at all those photos.  There's over a thousand!  Hope we caught something on camera!

Dave's Trip to Honduras

Dave is back!!!  He arrived back to Phoenix today.  I'm happy he's home.  Robert ran to him when we picked him up from school. Then he asked, "What did you buy for me?" LOL! Here are a few pictures that he took.  This is the plane he flew on.  It's an old Delta 737.  Now private for this type of work he is doing.  He brought back coffee, hot sauce (of course) and cigars.  Now they want him to travel to China and Brazil.  We'll keep you posted if he takes these trips.         

Dave travels to Honduras

Dave flew to Honduras this past Monday. For those of you who know Dave, he's having a blast on this job.  I am a bit nervous having him travel out of the country.  He's under strict orders by me to take lots of pictures. :)  He comes home tomorrow.  I'll post some of the pictures over the weekend. Robert and I can't wait for him to come home!!
